For the 3rd time this year, Antenor organizes a sale devoted to tableware.
Great names in silversmithing are featured, with pieces by Aucoc, Delheid, Wolfers and Odiot.
We'll also be presenting a number of menagere sets, including one by the famous Puitforcat house, comprising 166 pieces, and a beautiful modernist menagere by Hermès.
Porcelain services will be on display, including a number of plates by artists such as Keith Haring and Andy Warhol: Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, as well as French crystal, including numerous glasses by Saint-Louis.
Saint-Louis is often cited as France's oldest crystal works, founded in 1586 in a valley in the forest of the Vosges du Nord.
Its hallmark is the excellence of hand-crafted crystal, a blend of tradition and innovation.
In 1767, King Louis XV granted the company the title of Verrerie Royale de Saint-Louis. This royal privilege marked an institutionalization, an official recognition.
In 1781, a key moment: a certain François de Beaufort (former director of the Verreries Royales de Saint-Louis) discovered the composition of crystal (notably the addition of lead) to obtain a more transparent, resonant and luminous glass. This marked the beginning of lead crystal production in Saint-Louis.
In 1995, Saint-Louis is acquired by the Hermès group. This enabled the company to relaunch its creations, collaborate with contemporary designers and reinforce its luxury image.
