INDO-PORTUGUESE, XVII/ XVIII CENTURY Height: 11.7 cm - Weight: 362 g - Length, pestle: 14 cm (very slight accidents) Similar shaped mortars in turned ivory are illustrated in the Portuguese exhibition catalog. expansion overseas & the art of ivory at the Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon, 25 June - 15 September 1991, p. 201, ill. 596-602, all dating from the 17th or 18th century.
