MARIE CAILLOU (BORN 1964 IN BRUSSELS) - Lot 53
MARIE CAILLOU (BORN 1964 IN BRUSSELS) Origin n° 6 Ceramic, pigmented black and white earth, stoneware fired H: 16 x W: 28 x D: 15 cm Born in Brussels in 1964, Marie Caillou lives and works there. Her works explore deep-seated memory, navigating between roughness and extreme delicacy. Balance and movement, emptiness and fullness. From the earth, a primordial element if ever there was one, biomorphic forms emerge like traces of the past. Each piece invites us to revisit the origins of life, its mystery and metamorphosis. A practice of abstract sculpture nourished by the value of time, which naturally encourages us to go back to our roots.
