ELKE VANLERBERGHE (B. 1975) - Lot 22
ELKE VANLERBERGHE (B. 1975) Tiny Vase Candle Holder, 2025 Glazed stoneware H: 10 cm Elke Vanlerberghe is a Belgian ceramist based in Ghent. She is the founder of the LERRY ceramics brand (created in 2020), which stands out for its handmade pieces, blending the utilitarian and the sculptural, playing on allusions to Greco-Roman antiquity and a joyful contemporary aesthetic. In her home studio in Ghent, she shapes stoneware forms, applies bold decorative techniques (smileys, bows, shells) and exploits colorful glazes to transform the ordinary into works of art. Her work explores the idea of ornamentation and celebrates the "desire to adorn": the everyday object becomes a "conversation piece", charged with visual meaning and narrative. Elke Vanlerberghe also shares her expertise through workshops and training collaborations with Belgian institutions, and is involved in the organization of ceramic events, reinforcing her position in the Belgian contemporary ceramics scene.
