Eleonore Joulin's work is rooted in the history of art, gastronomy and architecture - among other things - creating unexpected links and giving rise to forms between everyday objects and sculpture.
She works with ceramics by hand, creating her own glazes: each series is the result of lengthy research prompted by a particular material (a metal oxide, a chemical component, etc.).
She creates pieces that are part everyday object, part sculpture. Almost every one of her pieces has a purpose, sometimes even anecdotal, thus questioning the domesticity of art, but also the long functional tradition of ceramics.
