[Probably Caen, 1814]. 35 pp. in-12 square in a stapled notebook under a blue sponge-stamped heavy paper cover, speckled edges (period cover. Book of orders given as inspector general of cavalry, from July 22 to August 28, 1814, in the context of the mission he had received to reorganize the cavalry corps in the 14th military division (Caen). This reorganization concerned the 4th regiment of cuirassiers, renamed the regiment of cuirassiers of Angoulême, and founded in the 9th regiment of mounted chasseurs the 24th of the same arm and a regiment of mounted chasseurs of the Guard, except for a few men authorized to enter the King's mounted grenadiers. His mission also touched on all sorts of regulatory aspects: the maintenance of the uniforms as defined in 1812, the leaves, the children of troops, and announced a distribution of crosses of the Legion of Honor, etc. THE GENERAL OF CAVALRY BRICHE WAS ILLUSTRATED DURING THE NAPOLEONIAN WAR: in the Prussian campaign in 1806, in Spain, then in the German campaign in 1813 and the French campaign in 1814. He had not rallied the emperor under the Hundred Days. Provenance : former collection of Émile Brouwet.
