Two softwood owls with black and greasy patina. Burma, circa 1959-1970 H: 13 cm Moulds in the shape of an owl, used to make lacquer objects in Burma. The owl is the lucky animal in the Irawadi valley. The shape is extremely pure, a slight slit appears at the back to remove the lacquer shape which will then be colored.
